Exhibition Layouts...
The club is currently building its first exhibition layouts. The first is OO (DC & DCC) and based on Tiverton Junction around 1963. This layout has only just had ideas put together, but baseboard building will commence over the next few weeks. (Ready for our 2011 exhibition)
Additionally a start has been made on Hemyock, at the end of the Culm Valley Branch, in "n" gauge. This is likely to be ready by the end of 2011.
Chinehurst is a code 75 ex SR 16' terminus layout donated by Ron North of the High Wycombe & D MRS. It has already attended many shows & featured in the model press. We have given it a bit of TLC, built a new traverser fiddle yard, & will upgrade some of the buildings & add signalling.
An 009 (Narrow gauge) Welsh slate quarry layout, Blackdown Rail, will be ready for the 2010 show. Several circuits, hidden sections & steep climbs on rickety OO9 track set the scene on this 4' X 3' layout. A scratch built wharf, quarry, village, & trestle bridge stand amongst the hand made trees & rocky mountainside. Making the loco's & rolling stock has also presented a challenge for members.
As well as this there are club members layouts that are available for exhibition purposes.
You can find these on the left if you hover your mouse over the "Exhibition Layouts" page. Here you will find a list pop out on the side, of the layouts that are available.
If you are interested in one of these layouts attending your show please email David Fosberry at davidfosberry@hotmail.com
